CANTON, Mich. – Ashka Salon & Spa is hosting its 4th annual “Give Back Month” initiative during the month of October. Beginning Tuesday, October 1 through Thursday, October 31, the team at Ashka will be working to raise more than $15,000 to benefit Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit!

The community giving initiative includes a month-long silent auction that features such items as VIP Monday Night Football Detroit Lions Tickets, an autographed football by Reggie Bush, gift cards to restaurants including Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, Hayden’s, Morton’s and D’Amatos of Royal Oak in addition to jewelry, AVEDA products, hair extensions, personal training, floral deliveries and several other items.  A complete list of items is available at: www.ashkasalonspa.com

In addition, Ashka will be donating $5 for every full-sized Aveda product sold to support Goodwill’s job education, training and placement programs. Guests will also receive a custom “Love Detroit” shirt with a $10 donation or two shirts for a $15 donation, available courtesy of GalaxE. Solutions and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.

Ashka, named a top 10 salon for philanthropy by Salon Today magazine for 3 years running, is committed to partnering with Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit to help Metro Detroiters overcome employment challenges and become trained, trusted and ready to work. Their work would not be possible without the generous support of their partners: the Detroit Lions, Super Fine Wine & Liquor, Christine Lammers of Stella & Dot, Rick Vaughn of Bill Brown Ford, Allison Fishwick of Howard Hanna Realtors, The Goddard School, Joe Pacut of All State Insurance and Central City Dance.

“At Ashka we believe you will always get out what you put in – in service, in investment of your time and efforts and especially in creating goodwill for those around you.” said Steve Curry, owner of ASHKA Salon & Spa. “The Ashka team continues to be grateful to the community for supporting a locally-owned small business.  Our guests, sponsors, team members and friends can be confident that every dollar spent at Ashka is reinvested in local community, philanthropic causes, environmentally sustainable practices and the local economy.”

“The success of our job training, education and placement programs depend on the generous support of community partners like Ashka,” said Lorna G.
